Golf Club Trade In

If you love the game of golf, you know how expensive golf clubs can be.  More importantly, you also know how a good set of clubs can help improve your game by several points.  If you are ready to trade in your golf clubs to buy a better set, there are several different trade in programs that will give you money for your clubs or even better apply your trade in to a new and improved set of clubs.

Companies that make golf clubs like Callaway have golf club trade in programs.  You need to be sure that you read the rules first before you try to trade in your clubs.  If you take a look at Callaway's website they have a page explaining the rules of golf club trade in.  Here is a comprehensive list of Callaway's golf club trade in rules.

Golf Club Trade In
  1.  Make sure that your clubs work properly.  Callaway will not accept any clubs that have dents in the clubheads or rattle.  If the irons have any rock chips in them, they will not be accepted either.  The only non factory alterations that Callaway will accept are grip alterations.
  2. If your clubs have a shaft that was not installed by the factory or have shaft burn, they will be accepted but you will not get full value for them.  If you are unclear if any of the above applies to your clubs, you can go to Callaway's website and view photos of unacceptable clubs.
  3. You can only trade in clubs if you plan to buy Callaway wood or iron sets that are equal to or cost more than your golf club trade in.
  4. You need to check Callaway's rates for trade ins on their website.  If you don't see your club model, that means that Callaway isn't accepting that model at the current time of your trade.
  5. If you are going to sell a set of irons, you need to make sure that you have at least seven clubs.

For those of you that don't live in the United States, Callaway doesn't offer a trade in program for you at this time.  They are looking to expand the program so if Callaway is what you seek then stay tuned.  Keep in mind that Callaway isn't the only company that does golf club trade ins.  You can check the internet or your local sporting goods store to find other companies that offer the same service.
